Home Base Design & Build Centre is Australia’s largest building, renovating, decorating and landscaping destination. We created its brand in 2014 and have run its campaigns, films and websites ever since.

The challenge
Home Base is Australia’s largest building, renovating, decorating and landscaping destination, with more than 200 displays under one roof. It needed a brand strong enough to hold all of those businesses together, and marketing that keeps homeowners coming through the doors.
What we did
We created the Home Base identity in 2014 and have looked after it ever since, most recently refreshing the brand guidelines and moving the type to Gotham Narrow. Along the way we’ve made films, TV and radio ads, billboards, paid social and a new website.

Identity system
The yellow hexagon and house have welcomed people to Home Base since 2014. The refreshed guidelines keep the logo and its four warm yellows, balance them with four greys, and set everything in Gotham Narrow: Bold for headlines, Medium for body copy.

Customer walkthrough
The customer walkthrough film shows how much of a build or renovation can be planned under one roof, from the displays to expert advice. Billboards then put the homes built by Home Base’s builders front and centre.
Paid social
Two strands of paid social: New Audience ads walk people through the showrooms, while Education ads promote the centre’s short courses on design, building and renovating.

New website
The new website is built around what people come to Home Base for: more than 200 in-centre displays, short courses and free time with an in-house designer. Every display can be searched, with its own page and a map to find it in the centre.
The result
More than a decade on, Home Base looks and sounds like one destination rather than a collection of showrooms. The same brand runs from the front entrance to billboards, ads, film and the new website.
