Massive

Massive is a fan platform where artists build a community of their own, with exclusive drops, chat, merch and competitions. We gave it a bold, rounded identity and designed the app that brings artists and fans together.

The challenge

Massive set out to give artists a home of their own online, where fans could chat, buy music and merch, and get closer than any social feed allows. To win over artists, fans and investors, it needed a brand with real energy and an app as easy to use as the ones people already know.

What we did

We drew a heavy, rounded wordmark and a symbol that reads as a sound wave and a raised hand, then built the patterns, the app design and the pitch deck from them. Photos of artists and fans fill the symbol, so every piece puts people at the centre.

A bold identity

The wordmark is cut from heavy, rounded letters that lock together, with a stacked version for tight spaces. The symbol, three rounded strokes rising like a raised hand, stands on its own as the app icon. Massive Blue sits at the centre of a scale of tints and shades, from soft lilac to Midnight, and Inter sets every word, from the pitch deck to the smallest label in the app.

The pitch

The pitch deck opened on one promise: building the world’s most connected community of artists and fans. An artist close up, the white wordmark and the blue symbol set the tone for every slide that followed.

Patterns

Cropped, repeated and stacked, the symbol’s rounded strokes become a set of wallpapers in blue, lilac and navy. They sit behind the app, the social posts and every slide of the pitch deck.

The app

We designed the Massive app for artists and the fans who follow them: a Fanwall home, artist pages with exclusive previews, chat, a marketplace for music, merch and experiences, and a Fan Pro dashboard that shows artists their community growing week by week.

People in the mark

Photos of artists and crowds sit inside the symbol, so the mark is never empty. The same treatment works for a headline act on stage and for the fans in the front row.

Welcoming artists

As each artist joined, a welcome card introduced them in the brand’s blue fade, with their reach beneath their name. The cards ran through the pitch deck and across social.

Behind the Hype

Behind the Hype is Massive’s own podcast, with an episode for the artists who joined, from Violetta Zironi and Sammy Arriaga to ALYSS and Jacob Lee. A social tile and a Spotify cover for every episode carry the artist in the brand’s blue with the stacked wordmark, so the show is easy to spot in any feed.

Social

Every artist who joined got a welcome post on Massive’s socials: their photo in the brand’s blue fade, the stacked wordmark and their name, from Shontelle and Sammy Arriaga to Peach PRC, Karnivool and Kav Temperley.

Artist quotes

Artists told fans in their own words why they joined. Freddie Gibbs, Josh Stewart of High Tropics and HOSS of Karnivool each had a quote post, set in Inter over their photo with the wordmark or symbol in the corner.

The result

Massive now has a brand as big as its name. One symbol, one blue and one app design carry it from the pitch deck to the phone, giving artists a place to meet their fans on their own terms.

Empowering artists. Connecting fans.
